  1. How do I get to the hostel?

  2. How much are the rooms?

  3. Can I pay by credit card?

    No, we do not accept credit cards unfortunately only cash. However, there are several 24-hour ATMs around the hostel where you can withdraw cash.

  4. Can I make payment in euro?

    Yes, you can. The current exchange rate will be taken into consideration when you make payment in euro.

  5. When do I make payment?

    Upon your arrival.

  6. Is there a deposit I need to pay?

    If you book through hostelworld or hostelbookers, you pay a 10% to these booking sites so what needs to be paid here is the rest.

    If you book through directly via email, there is no deposit you need to pay.

  7. Do I need to confirm my reservation?

    Yes, we will get back to you ONE week before your arrival for confirmation when you can modify your reservation.

  8. How and when do I cancel my reservation?

    Please make sure that you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours before your arrival. You can call us at 00-36-1-3022103 or email us at info@homemadehostel.com

  9. Is there a taxi available for airport transfers?

    Yes, the hostel has its own taxi service. Please let us know at least 48 hours in advance and we can organize the transfer for you. It costs 16 euro from and to Terminal 2, and 14 euro from and to Terminal 1. If we can not, we recommend you to use ’Zónataxi’ which has reasonable rates.

  10. Is this O.K. if I arrive late at night / early in the morning?

    Yes, we have 24-hour reception so you can check in any time. If you arrive very early in the morning, we can not guarantee you a bed at that time but you can stay at the hostel and wait until other people check out at 11 am.

  11. Is there a check-out time?

    Yes, there is. We ask our guests to leave their beds until 11 am but you can leave your luggage at the hostel if your train / bus / flight is in the afternoon / evening.

  12. Is breakfast included?

    No, we do not provide breakfast unfortunately. However, there are lots of places around (bakeries, pubs, cafés) where you can have cold or cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price (2-3 euro).

  13. Is parking possible at the hostel?

    Since we are located in a residential building, we have no assigned parking places. If you drive to Budapest, you can leave your car in a guarded parking lot (10-30 euro per day) near the hostel. Parking is free in Budapest on the streets at weekends and holidays.

  14. Do you have mixed dorms / rooms?

    Yes, all of our dorms / rooms are mixed with shared bathrooms. If you wish to book a room for a group with the same gender, please let us know in advance.

  15. Do you have private bathrooms?

    No, all of our bathrooms (3) are shared – and kept very clean.

  16. Does the private double room have a private bathroom?

    No, it does not. But the closest shower is 4 steps away from the room.

  17. Are there lockers available?

    Yes, there are lockers in each room for each guest. There is either a key or a padlock that we can provide (there is a deposit of 1,000 HUF which will be given back to you when you check out) but you can use your own padlock as well if you wish.

  18. Can you help me to book a bus / train to my next destination?

    Yes we can. When you arrive, we will help you to get to your next destination.
